Nothing RANDOM about hearting The Outsiders.

We say there is nothing random about hearting the outsiders, because really how could you not heart both the book and the movie?

This amazing and heart-breaking story is one that will stick with you through out your whole life.

When I first read this book I think I was 12 years old, and I have re-read it about 100 times since.

The author S.E Hinton, was 17 years old when this book was first published in 1967. And in case you never knew this, S.E. Hinton is a girl! Who so exactly and wonderfully captured the life of teenage boys in the 1950's.

And then to make this story even better, Francis Ford Coppola went and made one of the best films EVER out of it.

In 1983 a group of unknown young actors got together to make a little film about some boys from the "wrong side of the tracks".

Those actors included, Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Emilio Esteves, Ralph Machio, C. Thomas Howell and a girl named Diane Lane playing Cherry Valence.

Wow... Really?

This movie is so amazing and sweet and sad and beautiful.

If you have not ever seen it (Lord knows why... Are you living under a rock?)
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go see it now!

Without ruining the story for anyone (Really? I like your house.) who has not seen it, this is the story of 3 brothers in Oklahoma who lost their parents in a car accident. Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry Curtis are just about the cutest brothers you could imagine.

Ponyboy and his friend Johnny end up getting into a fight with the Greaser's rivals, the Socs... Who are super yucky prepsters that think they are hot SH*T.

One thing leads to another and Ponyboy and Johnny go on the run.

Now look,I know I say it about almost everything we write about on this blog... But that is because these really are things we heart, things that have special meaning to us, but this story is AMAZING!
Read it, Watch it, Love it.
