Fashion Friday: You say High...I say Low...

Our newest fave (almost not quite but hopefully soon) trend is the mullet hem. Well that's not really what they are calling it but we are.
Nina Ricci 2010...tdf!

But it really is like a mullet....party in the front and business in the back...

Maybe it's from spending countless years in our wrap ballet skirts that are short in the front and long in the back... that we can't get enough of this (hopefully upcoming) trend...

Or it could be our crazy obsession for the genius, Raquel Allegra's unbelievable long tailed webbed tops that we can't wait to wear these next few amazingly super well researched picks...

But what ever it is, this delicate look is yummy!

While perusing new items for our ever growing closet we came across this super perfect springtime frock from Mink Pink (heart you MP).
Throw on a pair o' booties or slouchy pirate boots with this mullet dress and ...hello cuteness!!

Not super sure about the dress above? MP makes a TDF top for you...woo hoo!
Sooo good...so dramatic with out being "Hey look at me...aren't I cool?" Yeah we are talking to you fake hipsters...otherwise known as McGipsters in my house...

Pair this top with a great mini and flip flops or studded cons or cute OTK boots and you are...say it with us...RTG!

Now for this next piece o' el trendo de mullet Nightcap Clothing gives it to us hard and strong....just the way we gals of Things We Heart like it....

Oh...PS ignore the bad and super contrived styling in this photo. This rad dress is practically begging to be worn with Doc Martens or flip flops. Easy Breasy....

Oh Mr Alexander Wang...just when we were beginning to think you could only do basics or hard to wear Denim and Leather jackets...you give us this uber sexy and fashion forward blouse.
We love how dramatic the back is mixed with the red and white nautical-esque silk fabric. Thank you for reminding us how much we heart thee....

Now this next dress/tunic is not for the faint at fashion... Morphine Generation's rad ass printed tank dress is just that...rad.
We are still trying to figure out how to suggest wearing it...not really loving how they did it above but maybe with tights and high booties and a cropped jacket? Hmmm...

Dolce Vita (love them and they have great shoes!) let us step in easily to the mullet dress.
The cute print matched with the gentle mullet hem is the perfect sundress (well we could do with out the cap sleeves but who's perfect?

This dress called and asked to be paired with some rad new gladiator sandals or low top studded cons for summer. We said ok...

If you are not ready for your mullet coming out party...try these 2 tops to get your cute tootsies wet.

Seneca Rising...we are sooooo on your band wagon. We have a few of your dresses and can't wait to add this mullet hemmed tank to our collection.
Uggghhhh...we super love the styling here! Couldn't have said it better ourselves! This top would love to be with a great pair of harem trousers too btw...

This Urban top really let's you off the hook easily but still hints at a mullet.
It is so pretty and off at the same time it's perfectly imperfect! This would have gone gorgeously in our Ballerina post!

Got a super cute dress at home that maybe a weird length (like calf length..trust us no bueno on anyone...unless of course you are Kate Moss in combat boots or Miranda Kerr) take it to your local tailor and for $12-$18 they can give you the perfect mullet dress!

You're welcome!!

PS This is an example of how NOT to wear this trend...too '90s...

Come on..you know you love the mullet..well at least the clothing kind...

xoxo things we heart
