Fashion Friday: Down on Oxford Street...we heart boy shoes on girls!

We love oxfords yes we do...we love oxfords how 'bout you?!?!

Being the walking contradictions that we are over here @ Things We Heart we of course LOVE to HATE and super HATE to LOVE oxford shoes or Brogues for the shmancy folks.

Nery a tomboy in town can resist the undeniable love for wearing or wishing to wear those cutie bean shoes.

So snazzy...so chic...we super heart a great pair o' oxfords and a dress. The total oppositeness of it all makes us quiver!

We love and maybe even over use our lucky gold fantasmic oxfords from Steve (madden)...

We pair them with everything we can...but they look best with dark skinnies or mini tent dresses...

We gotta admit...we saw one of the most beautiful women ever... (besides miss me and all my other girl friends) Miss KW wearing a pair like these years ago and totally copied her...but super worth the guilt we feel.

Oooohhhhh these studded toe Dolce Vita (ughhh that alone kills us) stud muffins would love to...

So we tried some high top oxfords on today with a sundress (no not bragging...global warming sux) and it looked super cute!!!!

We lurve this crocheted high top wingtip scrumdiddles from Topshop. Soooo good!

Oh...wear neon anklets with these!!!!

Not ready to go all the way with the wingtip high tops? How about the hotness white low top version?
Our pleated khaki Gap shorts are dying to be paired with these and a striped off the shoulder sweater!!!

Fashion Friday: As if it needs to be said...cozy up to cashmere...

So as of late, you may have noticed our....well...love for cashmere and fall weather ...OK so it's more of an obsession so I am sure you have noticed.

But seriously have you snuggled up in some cashmere lately? Have you?

Cuz if you have, you are super on our cashmere lovin' bandwagon. If not...buy a sweater or 3 and we will see you on the wagon trails.

Wrapping up in scrumdidilyumptious cashmere offerings feels as cuddly as a bunny cat sleeping on you.

Cashmere wool is created from the brushing of the molted layer of goats fur. They spin the brushed under layer of fur into this crazy soft yarn....Thanks Cashmere goaties!

Here are our faves in the land of cashmere...

The easiest (and usually most recessionista chic) way to be swathed in the lusciousness, is wearing a scarf.

Loving this infinity wrap scarf from James Perse. Tres Chic...no weird hanging ends!

Just twist it around your neck...fluff it up and you are ready to grace the streets of Paris.

A heather grey Cashmere cardi with stripes made of chiffon ruffles....ummm... OUI MERCI!

This would look amazing over a tee (Mr Wang's are still our favs) with leggings and OTK or those Fiorentini Baker boots we love so much...cuteness! (PS scroll down on the link to see the boots)

This red low back, bat sleeve, suuper soft, fabulusious sweater dress reminds me of when I was 6 and I would sneek in my mom's closet and try on her red angora backless dress and walk around until I would fall asleep on the floor with the dress wrapped like a blanket.
Of course it's from Halson! It soooo '80s ...in a good way! This would look hot with flat OTK boots...

So, when you think of someone being a triple threat, you may think of Beyonce or even JLo...but they may have to move over when they meet the designer of Lolly, Chad Kimball. He created this positively crazy snuggly soft hoodie/ robe/cardigan.

Not only does Chad Kimball create buttery cashmere pieces for Lolly by day... he is also a star on Broadway at night, and the designer for Obvious clothing!!! And you thought you had no time for anything.

Geez...way to make us feel like failures Chad...thanks :(

Oh, hahaha...yet another Coco inspired cashmere piece. This one we found from Line...and boy oh man do we need this!
We would grab 1 size bigger..throw on some tights and oxfords or tall (flat) boots and be on our merry little Parisian way.

Now that you are officially on our wagon of cashmere love...here are a few tricks to keeping your treasured goods in tip top shape.

1. Buy cedar balls or blocks (moths looove cashmere as much as we do)

2. Grab a plastic sweater box

3. Stick your gorge cashmere in the box with the balls (ooooh sounds dirty)

4. Do NOT Dry clean your cashmere. The chemicals make is stiff and break down the fibers...we have learned the hard way.

5. Wash in cold water on the delicate cycle. We love to use the Laundress' detergent

6. Do NOT dry...lay flat over a bath tub or sweater net

Easy Breasy Beautiful...Cashmere! (you thought we were going to say Covergirl ;0 )

Fashion Friday: Fall into the Gap... Really!

When the Gap hired Patrick Robinson to be creative director / head designer for the decades old company in 2007, the fashion world was anxious to see what this young man would do for the classic American brand built on the back of khakis and tee-shirts. 

In his second year with the company Robinson has already overhauled their entire denim collection. Leaving the old ill fitting and unstylish washes in the past. Gone are the "Mom jeans" and in are the sexy premium denim styles! 

The 1969 premium jeans. 

These jeans are all priced under $70 and they are all really amazing! 

It is like a denim angel came down and said "My child, although the J-Brand Majors you are wearing now are lovely and worth every penny of the almost $200 price tag.... Check out these equally flattering and MUCH more affordable Always Skinny Destructed Button Jeans from The Gap!"  

Super sexy right? Love the button detail at the ankle. 

We are also hearting these super soft and bright orange skinny cords! 

These are gonna be some definite fall favorites for 2009, throw them on with some over the knee boots and a loose off the shoulder sweatshirt.... and go be cute. 

The Things-We-Heart girls are still hearting the adorable boyfriend jeans this fall, how can you beat being comfy AND looking stylish at the same time? And this style and wash from The Gap look just about as perfect as you can get. 

But Robinson and his team didn't stop at the jeans, The Gap has sooo many cute tops and jackets right now as well.

Hey there Cowgirl, you will be looking every inch the hot little lady in this pretty

Because The days of "The Gap girl" are over. This isn't your sorority sisters Gap anymore. 

Even the queen (at least to us) Of high-fashion design Miss Stella McCartney is teaming up with the Mega-brand to bring her chic style to children everywhere when her kids line debuts this fall!

Not to mention the delicious boots that will be available next month from Pierre Hardy's 4th year designing with the company. These platform boots are at the top of my list for easy-to-wear fall style! 

Miss Me is especially in love with the blue suede ones shown in the August Bazar feature! 

J'adore!!
