Color Crave: Pretty in pastel pink...

(Photo: Feministing)
While we are aware that we have bloged about our love for pink before... We are so hearting baby pastel pink right now we had to give it another go.
If you read about color therapy, they say that pastel pink represents compassion and an open heart. Perhaps that is why we are craving this color right now...

For just a hint of this lovely color, Lou Rota makes these amazingly Rocking Granny china plates. You can get yourself some at Not On The High Street.

(Photo: Elle Decor)
Ready to commit, well first answer us this, Are you as bad ass girly girl as the one and only Betsey Johnson? If you have answered "YES!!" to that question... Can we meet you and be your friends? A yes answer also allows you to live in a all pink super chic world like Miss Johnson herself!

The photo above and this one bellow of Betsey Johnson's apartment are both proof that all pink decor when done right, is super swoon worthy and jealousy inducing!

(Photo: Elle Decor)

Can you believe that you never thought of this before? And we always thought we had such a way with flower arranging...
Amazing loosey goosey Peony flowers in a mason jar... with coffee beans!!!!
(Yep we feel it deserved four exclamation points, its that good.)

Now if only one of our closest friends would hurry up and either get married or have a baby girl we could use this flower arrangement at their shower...

Look at your wall.... Is it looking a little bare? Do you need a little Umph? (Yes it is a real word, we think), then how about this simply adorable pink print from artist Faroush? You can grab yours over on Etsy.

(Photo: Faroush)
Now while we have seen this saying on a print before... We are super big fans of this version... Love the little white scalloped border and the black needle, it is so Cinderella and her mice.

Looking for more of a pop? Another Etsy find... JohnWGolden has these pop art, tough girl converse on a pink background. We would hang this one right in the bathroom... We know that may not sound like the biggest compliment, but to us it is... Right over the toilet is a place of honor... It sets the tone for your house's style. Plus everyone will see it!

(Photo: JohnWGolden)

Leave it to Kelly W. to be way ahead of the crowd. When we first saw her guest house in Domino we were a little confused, she had changed up her style on us.. But of course she found a great new one...

Oh, how we covet this tableaux! Oh, how we wish this was our room! The painting, the brass lamp, the amethyst encrusted box.. Perfection!

Look close our loves, and you will see that this beautiful bride is wearing a blush toned wedding gown... Do word exist to say how much we heart that? No.

Another super beautiful lineup of pink comes in this pretty photo from one of our most fave sites, Decor 8.

So pretty.
And this delicious and pretty pink cake would make any birthday girl smile.
These stairs are what inspired this post.. Although I am sad to say that I have had this picture on my computer for so long floating around in my "Inspiration" folder, that I don't remember where I found it. :(

But, I do know that the combination of pink and white stairs plus the super cute Mama and Baby in the background make me really happy.

This baby pink wall with antique mirrors also makes me really happy! Check out that light pink velvet tufted sofa... N.K.Y I wish I knew who made it, I would try and get you a red one!

Another really pretty flower arrangement we found on the beautiful site All Things Lovely. We heart the mercury glass vase and the pretty pink Ranunculus.

Even in little pops pink can always make yo smile, can always make you feel calm and happy.

Open your heart and let a little pink in to your world.

Decor to Die For: You're such a pouf! No we mean it in a nice way! We heart Moroccan Poufs!

Uggghhh how much we super and crazy uber heart Moroccan Poufs hurts! No really...it hurts!
How do you convince a boy that they are amazing and belong in your house?

You can literally put an amazing pouf anywhere in your home to brighten up your space in a totally functional way.

There are sooo many different types of Moroccan poufs out there....where do we begin?

Hmmmmm....how about with a bit o' inspiration for us all...then we shall show you a few of our TDF faves...OK...let's GO!

**Beware...this post is muy picture heavy...but that's OK right...right? 'Cuz seriously who wants to read so much today? **

You can not talk about nouveau Moroccan poufs (MPs) with out talking about (and obsessing over) John Derian...The King of the modern Decoupage.

He could possibly be the reason poufs are back in such a big way...

LOVE the mix of purple, crisp white, and bright pink...not to mention the rad lucite coffee table...

Now... although Mr Derian's poufs are gorge and just called both of our houses asking if they can come home and sit by our windows and fireplaces...they are pretty pricey...

Gosh...the mix of classic meets cosmopolitan meets bohemian chic is TDF and sooo chic! It says..."Oh I love to pick up things here and there while I sail around the world"

So guess what? No, it is not a DIY...(scroll down...the DIY is later)...Tazi Designs makes beautiful poufs too and for about $100 less...wooo hooo!

We are in Heartland with their metallics

And these ridiculously stupidly amazing embroidered lovelies!!!! These are dying to be somewhere near us...

A sickly talented and stunning friend of ours has a couple of these...Hmmmm wonder if she will notice if both of them are gone...They are sooo yummy it's totally worth smuggling them out...

John and now Tazi's poufs are soooo fantastic, they come in soooo many colors and sizes...
Here are a few of the ways to use their gorgeous poufs that we are obsessing about...seriously...OBSESSING!!!

Bye bye odd ceramic garden stools being used as end of the bed stool/benches....hello stunning use of MPs.

Dear FGF Kelly W,
Hi there by now your restraining order against us is probably being filed but before we agree to sign, can we just tell you...WE LOVE THESE limey green MPs in the most chic kids room ever!

Only you can mix light green poufs with light blue, rolled arm, tuffted, nailhead chairs...ugly dolls and an upholstered sleigh bed and make it look perfect! Sooo good!

If you are not ready to board the train to Moroccan Poufville but still love the look of soft stools...here are a few newbies to take a gander at...

Kilim is back in a big way and here is the Kilim take on the pouf...

This would look amazing in a white modern space...

Speaking of modern...Paola Lenti makes weatherproof "knit" plastic pouf that is spectacular...
Love it used as a table or poolside seat!

Ikea makes some great woven wood ones if Paola's don't do it for you or your wallet...

Hello super inviting chunky knit poufs from DWR?!?!? Sooo nautical meets modern chic and cozy!

Don't feel like spending $800 (on sale for $800) smackers? Make one yourself! See told you we had a DIY...

Hey don't laugh...it can look like this one the DIYer made herself...

Be a stylish lover....hug a Pouf today...then put it anywhere in your house and dare your friends not to steal your style ;)

xoxo things we heart

P.S. I just noticed we lied about the whole not reading thing...there are a lot of words here...oh well...they were for a good cause...

Decor to Die for: Rock Steady

Nope, we are not talking about the legendary 1980's break dance crew... At least not this time. We are talking about minerals and crystals... Nope not talking about THOSE kind of crystals either...

We are talking about the AMAZING, breath taking and stunning minerals that are right down under our feet inside the earth!

If you haven't been to your local history museum and checked out the gems and minerals room, we suggest you high-tail it over there. Trust us, you will thank us as you wander for hours enraptured by the beauty that comes from our earth.

We have been so inspired by these gems that we want to deck out our whole house with them!

The only problem is... Big time gem and mineral collectors pay tip-top dollar for these beauties.

Pretty much around the price you would imagine if someone said... "Hey I really want a 5 pound diamond sitting on my coffee table." Yes, some of these rocks will cost you about that much.

Seriously worth every cent is you have it to spend... Because they are raw out of the earth treasures.. One of a kind, rare finds.

But, we are not looking to have anything the same price as a 4 door car on our coffee tables. So, we have found an array of beautiful more affordable options. (Some are still Coo-Coo high end)

Like these stunning, get-the-fuck-out-of-town pieces from high end decorative objects designer Eduardo Garza.

Eduardo takes natures beauty and then steps it up a bit with solid gold bases, we love them because they still look organic and real... Just super fancy-pants.

Speaking of fancy-pants... Our girlfriend Kelly Wearstler the queen of the tableaux makes these insane boxes for her home line from Bergdorf Goodman.

Encrusted with raw cut minerals and gems... We went crazy over these when we first saw them in fact, we are still crazy for them.
They just make any table top prettier.

We found this solid yellow quartz lamp a year ago.... We just can't find where it comes from! And it is killing us because it is so beautiful and would make our living room perfect!!! So if you know, give us a holler.

Both the TWH gals fell hard for this crystal tea light holder... Yummy!

Moving on from Fancy Pants city into the real world, you can go on all these crazy hippie crystal sites and find really pretty stuff.
Like this super pretty amethyst sphere. Available at (No kidding) Dragon Art Work.

These blue agate book ends... So pretty!

How about this insanely insane amethyst bowl?

So amazing in your dining room!

And we found this really cool crystal light at

Even the less new-agey stores are getting into the mineral act, Anthropologie has some very pretty tea light holders and coasters made from crystal, agate and Miss Me's fave, amethyst.

We are so in heartsville with these gems and minerals... We can't wait to learn more and someday have a big giant chunk of yummy sitting on our table!

Just another reason to love our Mama Earth and treat her kindly!
