Fashion Friday: Here comes the bride....

So, maybe it is because it is June, or maybe it is because we fell head over heels in love with the dress that Miss t-w-h posted last week, or maybe it is because deep down inside we are just little girls who love looking at brides, whatever the reason, we bring you.... The Things-We-Heart bride guide! That is code for a bunch of dresses we heart!

Lets start with some of our favorite iconic brides, the ones who's dresses will inspire other brides for years to come.

First and foremost, we have Princess Buttercup. Now, don't tell me that as soon as the thrill of seeing a sparkly ring in a little black velvet box settles down, the first thing to pop into your head is not The Princess Bride herself. No? Well, then, maybe it was just me. But Buttercup is my idea of the perfect bride, except for the fact that she was going to be forced to marry that horrible Prince Humperdink Humperdink. Wesley took care of him and then they were happy forever.

"Ummm, hi, pink, yes, PINK ombre silk one shoulder wedding dress with an antique lace veil... Is that you? It's the girls from Things-We-Heart calling, we just wanted to say congratulations for being possibly the most amazing dress of our generation. Ok, that's all, we didn't mean to bother you Pink ombre silk one shoulder  wedding dress and antique lace veil, we just had to call and tell you that. Bye-Bye."

First of all we have to say how amazing and sad and beautiful this picture is, because this beautiful couple died WAY WAY WAY too young. But we can not help but add it as an iconic wedding picture, because while Miss Me was planning her own wedding, I kept comming back to this picture to remind myself how wonderful and beautiful and timeless things can be if you just keep them simple. The old wooden steps, the no-frills dress and hair, the pure joy of their faces, all equal up to perfection.

Alright, we admit to having a deep and resounding infatuation with Miss Hepburn, and yes in our eyes she can do no wrong, but you have to give credit where credit is due, and this tea length wedding dress is all right. I think tea length wedding gowns are super chic and I am kind of crazy for them.

Oh Vivienne Westwood, you are just so, so, what is the word we are looking for? Just so.... Everything. And when you Westwood with Carrie Bradshaw, well you just get iconic bride all the way. Simply amazing! Plus we love the bridesmaids in floor length gowns each in her own color. Your friends will love you for it.

Alright, enough with the brides of the past, lets look to the future and towards making you the most beautiful bride you can be.

When you are a bride, you have to remember that for most of the ceremony, people are getting a view of your back, so why not give them something beautiful to look at? This Vera Wang FAll 2010 dress is a work of art. Look at those layers of silk? Amazing.

Always dreamed of looking like a wood nymph at your wedding? (It's o.k lots of us slightly hippie girls do!) Well the always amazing Vera Wang has you covered with this Spring 2010 stunner. You have to love the Ivy crown, reminds me of Miss Me in high school!

Holy F*%K! This dress looks like an explosion of feathers! But I mean that in a really good way, it is lovely!
Monique Lhuillier's Evita dress for Fall 2009 is so full of detail, you could spend hours staring at it. And trust me, you will!

Wow... Wow... I think I am in love, This is like the fairy tale princess dress I used to dream of when I was a little girl, like in my early 20's (haha). The layers and the sparkle? Really? Really? Wow! Hmm, I wonder if my husband will go for renewing our vows? Hmm, most likely not. Oh well.
The Shilo dress also from Monique Lhuillier Fall 2009 could be yours now. Go for it!

Remember when I said I was a sucker for Tea length? Yep, I still am. I am sad to say, I don't know who made this little number, but it is so lovely. For a daytime garden wedding? Beauty.

And, although I was not a fan of her attitude, Kenley hit the nail on the head with this beautiful lemon yellow tea length wedding dress on Project Runway. I love the feathers I love the tulle, I love everything. Well done Kenley, carry on.

On that same episode, Leanne hit it out of the park with her pleated, and layered wedding dress with pockets. To die for. Enough said.

Who said a bride has to wear white? For Spring 2010 Vera Wang the last word on bridal fashion showed this beautiful cupcake colored collection of wedding dresses. Such a dream.

We hope you enjoy this little walk down the aisle.

Decor (to die for): Pillow me with your love!

After many (sooo many) different ideas on today's post...stopping and starting..deleting and nail biting I was at a blank.  But then it happened.... well 2 things happened and the confusion melted away.

1. I was tiding up our home away from home (the mobile bus kind) and wished I brought some of my personal touches from my house.  Maybe a few pillows to replace the baby poop brown ones we have here.

and

2. I woke up to the new products (soooooo cute!)  from our boyfriend Jonathan Adler.
Let the inspiration flow!

Mr. Adler has taught us many things and the most important of them all is the need to have fun with your decor.
There are no real rules except...go for color, go for personal touches and go for FUN!.

So, in honor of pillows, J.A. and fun...we bring to you just a small selection in the big world of fun, amazing pillows to brighten up and liven up your home (or traveling summer home).
Its fitting to honor and present the King of lively decor and his perfect pillows.

We uber heart J.A.s pillow selection.

There is something for everyone.  From super cute fruity finds (Miss Me has the most amazing collection of these...she is the best at fun, chic decor) to beautiful patterns and prints, he has them all!

There is something so kitchy cute and totally en vogue about these fruit flavored puff pieces.

Um wow!  Only JA could make boobies sooooo cute and not sleazy.

How rad is this Woman pillow?
Wanna vase to go with it?
Sooo sexy, soo soft, sooo unexpectedly rad!

Still don't see the perfect pillow?  Go here and literally customize one for you or your loved ones.  Pick any color way, letter...have a blast!  Pick a few to create a word.  Every time I walk into my living room and see my cute and colorful initial pillows perched on my white chairs, I giggle.

Gotta convince the man (geek) in your heart to have some fun with decor and pillows?  With these Star Wars pillows he will not be able to say no!

After you charm him with these fantastical puffs, you will be free to grab some to suit your inner geek ;) maybe with this chic grandma-esque stag pillow from Target!
So fun and cute. This would look really amazing in a serious room or on a club chair for a really unexpected twist.

Or maybe this U.O. super sweet mod-like, modern birdie pillow will liven up your indoors by bringing the outdoors in.

The colors are sooo great!  It would be amazing in a room for anyone afraid of painting their white walls.

Got a little sailor in your life? Or a dad that needs to kick it up a notch in his den?  How rad is this anchor from Anthro?

Like the tattoo he never had the cajones to get...now he can get one (and give it away when he is over it...much less painful)

OK, I have NO idea what to do with these super tchotckie like yet funny Gama pillows
(I bet my super talented partner would) Not the most chic decor friendly, but I am super hearting them!  They make me laugh..perfect!

This needlepoint or crocheted leopard beauty from West Elm is soooo beautiful in person, I grabbed 2 (and the price is sooo right, $39!!!).
These can go on any chair, any couch or any bed and make it better.  The neutral colors but super pretty pattern will help make any space a bit more chin (new word! chic and fun put together)

Ready??? DEEP breath... 1.....2....3...
AHHHHHHHH.

This black and white, sequin (yes sparkly) almost herringbone pillow is T.D.F.!!!  Be brave, be bold... throw one (or 2) of these around your house and you are R.T.G.  So glam, sooo chic, soo pretty and fun...there is no way these can't liven up and chic-i-fy your abode!  Yes and please!!!!

K...I'm back...whew.. sorry.

While snooping around one of our fav sites, Etsy, we discovered this ridiculously clever, and uber du jour Postcard Pillow!  Olive's shop will write anything you want.  This would be one of the best gifts ever!  So thoughtful, yet totally cute and useful.

WOW... there are sooo many amazing finds out there!  Go have fun!  Pick something you never thought you could do and surprise yourself!

P.S. WE NEED THIS PILLOW!  HELP!

Random Hearts: We heart ponytails!

Wow, are ponytails not the cutest, easiest, most casual chic thing you can do with your hair? We heart them.... We wear them almost everyday.  First of all because it is so simple to throw your hair back and second because even the messiest ponytail can look like pure perfection.

We love them loose and messy, this is a look that works on pretty much everyone.  Leave some hair loose in the front for a sexy fresh out of bed style.

Things-We-Heart favorite Rachel Bilson, lets her messy low ponytail and nude lips take a backseat to those amazing big brown eyes of hers.

Yup, for her first big post baby red carpet moment, Miss Ritchie wore a super sexy 1960's style side ponytail. We are super big fans of the ponytail with a fancy dress combo. Just remember to give your ponytail a little extra "Oomph" when you are taking it out on the town.

Super beauty Molly Sims looks so great with the braided crown leading into a curly side ponytail. We are going to be practicing this one in the mirror to try and get it to look just effortless enough. (It takes a lot of effort to look that effortless!)

Sorry, we didn't mean to do this to you first thing in the morning... Before you even have your coffee and most likely are still in your sweats.  But alien-must-not-be of our species-uber-beauty Kate Bosworth is looking like a pretty princess with this wavy middle parted low and loose ponytail. This would be such a lovely way for a bride to wear her hair.
Hmmm Maybe Miss Me can plan a re-newing of the vows, just to do this to her hair, or maybe a nice dinner date is more realistic.

While we are not usually fans of hair that is bigger then your bottom, if you are lucky enough to have delicate features like Kate Bekinsdale, then go ahead and puff it up! She looks super chic and easy with her high ponytail.
Not to say all ponytails have to be all-out for us to love them, we are feeling the straight up simple pull it back off your face, pick up your toddler (or your 5 toddlers as the case may be) and head out!

Make like the original Barbie and own that ponytail.

XOXO- Things-We-Heart
P.S- These are the best ponytail holders. Because they come in colors to match your hair & they don't snag your hair. We heart them.

Yummies: SOOO hearting Ice Cream Sandwiches!

OK,
so it's a very well known fact that us girlies at T.W.H. luuurrvveee us a good Ice Cream.  Sooo it stands to reason that during this uber hot day we craved nothing more than a pile of the creamy goodness.
But its super hard to be a tourista and take pictures with one hand on the spoon and one holding the cup!
How are we supposed to hold our crazy tourist accompaniments such as a camera, map, Hurricane and sanitizer???

Then like a glittery bolt of lighting...it hit us... ICE CREAM SANDWICHES!!!

Perf!  It only takes 1 hand to eat these fantasmic goodies!

We uber heart those I mean how could you  not.. 2 of the best gifts from the dessert gods put together?  Cookies and Ice Cream....Um, Yes Please!

So in our Hurricane haze and with our sore Pilates bodies we searched high and low (well in our crazy brains filled with yummy food knowledge) to bring you just a few of our most memorable finds...  and we do mean FINDS.

First up on the train of perfect foods that make even a better one when they are married (geez...Im winded just reading that!) is the cult fav. It's - It Bars...and for good reason.

During our business meeting (hee hee) when we talked about doing Ice Cream sandwiches we did a double jinx.. shouting "OMG we HAVE to do It's - It Bars!"
It's - It Bars are not exactly the norm. I.C.S. (Ice Cream Sandwich).  Delicious Ice Cream is lovingly smooshed between 2 oatmeal (not the norm chocolate chip or choc cookie here) cookies...yuuummmm... but get this!  Then its dipped in dark chocolate.  Yup!

They are super hard to find but the company knows that so they offer overnight frozen shipping.  These will change your I.C. love affair.  My mom has been in love with these for years and every time we are in S.F., where they are made and were created in 1928, she makes us go on a hunt for them.

Choo choo...here we go.. this is fun!  My hungry mouth and tummy are fighting with my trainer (well, boyfriends trainer but he tries to keep me in line too) because now with these next uber yummy and uber easy to find I.C.S., we are about to jump out of the hotel bed and find us these...
Hello sweet tooth and tummy satisfaction!

Chipwich... one of the OG nationwide, famous amos, I.C.S.  These are sooo good!  And super easy to find.  Most Ice Cream trucks have these delectable beauties.  And so do convenient stores, markets, ummmmm well almost everywhere. You can even rent a cart to come to your house!

But, maybe they (the trainer and my cellulite) will be ok if we grab one of these delish low cal but high yumminess sandwiches.  Thank you Skinny Cow for your super tasty treats.  You have really upped the ante with these.

You will totally think you are eating something waaay worse.  I mean, these probably shouldn't be eaten 3 times a day, but they are so low in calories for a satisfying dessert you could do them 1 a day :)  You're welcome!

And for our hero's, the Vegans, you should most definitely not be left out of the fun.  Here ya go!

Tofutti Cuties are soooo good you will have no idea they are Vegan.  And they are small and sooo full of flavor you will be super satisfied too!

Wanna be super cute and a hot Martha Stewart?  Make your own!

They are pretty easy.  We did these and it was the hit of a party (and it was a tough crowd there too).  Just make sure you cut out the sandwiches after the Ice Cream is between the 2 sheets and frozen for an hour.  Mucho easier.

OOOHHHH wait!  Mold your D.I.Y. I.C.S in these uber cute molds!!!

P.S. Don't wait until national I.C.S. day on August 2 to enjoy these goodies... you deserve them now!

P.P.S. If you are ever around UCLA or Westwood CA..plllease do yourself a huuuuge favor and go by Diddy Riese for a ridiculously amazing I.C.S. it will be worth every calorie.

xoxo t.w.h.

The Beauty Beat, Pilates Bodies!

Ok, so we are traveling for a while with the family this summer, so that means no pilates classes!
We were taking classes up to 3 times a week before we headed out on our summer of fun.  Now heading into the second week without a reformer in sight, we are longing to get back to it!

So we figure, if we can't do it, let's talk about it!

Because we can vouch for the fact that Pilates makes you beautiful and strong (or at least we can vouch that it makes you FEEL that way)  we think it deserves to be filed here under the Beauty category.
Miss Me practices Stott Pilates, this method involves the use of the Reformer, the Cadillac and really puts the focus on your core. It is really amazing and helped turn her body around post baby & baby number two!!
Miss Me, was also not a big work-out gal before kids, but after you have kids, well you gotta face facts.

One day this will be Miss Me's tummy... If I can just stop with all those Yummy goodies we feature on Tuesdays.

Strengthening, toning and dropping pounds... Win, Win, Winner!!

Pilates was developed by fitness guru Joseph H. Pilates in the early 1900's as a complete body conditioning method. Joseph ran a pilates studio till he died in 1967!

So, he is sort of proof that pilates can help you hang around for a long time!!

If you want to try it out at home, Miss t-w-h swears by "All the right moves" pilates DVDs! Grace Lazenby can really show you how to shape it up in the privacy of your own living room and can you get any better then that?

Red alert! Red alert! The word on the street is that the new best thing for your buns is Piloxing! A mixture of Pilates and Boxing, super amazing cardio! This is the HARDEST class Miss t-w-h has ever taken, and his gal takes a lot of classes, so her word is gold. Watch a video here
Wow, I can not wait to try it!

Wow!! We miss pilates so much!! Please go and do some and think of us while you are working on your fitness!
