Princess Dew-Drop....

Alright, granted, we can not all be born with a golden glowing complexion with just the perfect sea-spray of freckles dotted across our nose.... Because if we were... Well, think of all those poor super models that would be out of work! The world would be such a horrible place for them if they were forced to be ordinary.

Thankfully though, we can learn from them, or more to the point the genius brains behind their make-up routine...

We are talking to you Gucci Westman.... We hope you hear us and can magically transfer a little of your super powers to us.
Gucci Westman is the woman behind the beautiful women... Well that and she is stunningly pretty herself.

Gucci rose to fame as the international artisitc director for Lancome, who she left in 2008.
She is also the queen bee of the "Dewy look".

You know the barely there glowing from the inside, I'm so young and full of life my warmth is seeping out of my skin look.... Yeah that one...We want it... BAD.

Of course being us... We would mix it with a bold and bright lip... Just to spice things up a little bit.

So, what are the secrets to getting this dewy as a morning rose skin?
We did some investigating and here is what we found.

Step 1.
Wash, wash, wash, Keep your face clean and scrubbed.
Follow our handy acne fighting guide here.

Step 2.
M-O-I-S-T-U-R-I-Z-E!!!
This step is so, so, so important because dry-skin is the enemy. Sun, air, weather, age, the wrong foods, air conditioning, a countless number of forces trying to suck the life and moisture out of your pretty skin.

Make sure you get your neck and decollete areas too... People see that as plainly as they see your face.

This is what Gucci Westman uses on models...

For the rest of us who would love a good moisturizer without breaking the bank,
May we suggest,
Josie Maran's Argan oil... It looks scary but just use it sparingly and let yourself glow!

Step 3.
Place dabs of cover-up where you most need, under the eyes, eyelids, on each side of your nose.... Remember to be light and sparing on this... We are not going full force whole face coverage.
Blend in cover-up with your clean fingers, it works best.
See our concealer list here.

Step 4, 5 & 6.
Once you are all scrubbed, rubbed and blended, you are ready for the finishing touches.

May we suggest, a light coat of warm brown eyeliner on the inner rims of your eyes.

A light layer of creme blush to keep you glowing and peachy,
Miss Me LOVES this one... But you have to have a hand like a butterfly...

Because if you go to heavy you are gonna look like you have your war paint on.
We also love this because you can use it on your lips... Which only makes the color look more natural.

Finish by lightly dusting your face neck and decollete with a little of this on an amazing makeup brush... See our guide here. Key word in that last sentence was LIGHTLY.

Wow look at you! Your so delicious! So dewy and fresh faced... We want to kiss you!

Take your dewy new face out for a spin!
But don't forget your hat!

Beauty-fuls: We heart Spring Beauty Trends

It's official...Spring is here! And so are it's uuber yummy beauty trends...

You know how we heart a good beauty story...
So, as the saying goes..."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...so are this seasons beauty trends!

Wooo hoooo...there is something for everyone!

It's almost as if ALL the designers called Miss Me and myself to ask what our most favorited beauty looks are and recreated them just for us to gaze at and then play with when we are at home alone ;)

Sooo our gorgeous lovers of Things We Heart, without futher adieu we bring you 4 of Spring's most delicious beauty trends...

P.S. 2 you will for sure recognize from a couple other posts...the same 2 that we swear designers borrowed from our lil blog!

We couldn't start this post with out the trend that we will take full credit for...OK maybe not FULL credit but can't a couple of girls dream?

1. Under Eye Eyeliner-

Once upon a time in 2004 we were called "Embarrassing" after lining our lower lids with a bright turquoise blue liner...now it's showing up all over! Wooo hooo!
Darn our timing ;)

Thank you Nanette Lepore for bringing the blue underliner back in such a pretty way!

Derek Lam does a face good with his light handed watercolor-esque blue under eye liner...

Oh Erin Fetherston you always get us where it counts! We sooooo heart all you do!
Including this goregous reverse smokey eye.

Soooo heroin chic in a beautiful sexy (not emaciated druggy) way.

Need a good bright eyeliner like the ones from NL show?
We heart Urban Decay

Or for your recessionistas Sephora makes some fantastically bright blues too like Azure and Lagoon

2. Bright Bold and Peachy Lips

You have heard us again and again (and again) talk about our minor obsession (ok MAJOR) with bold colored lips.

And thank the beauty goddess above, designers heart them too!

Mr Marc Jacobs for sure copied our post from last year and Miss Me's Magic Lipstick for his Spring 2010 show. We are honored Fake Boyfriend...we are honored!

He brought the runways bright fuschia lips! Suuuch a great and fun way to do a bold lip.
Now that the trend is getting bigger (You're Welcome) we found a few more yummy shades of Bright ass purpley-pink.

Mac Show Orchid is super divine and sexy and oh soooo super
The tattoo queen herself (no not that nasty ass slut Michelle Mcgee) Kat Von D has a super cute shade called Backstage Bambi that is sure to Barbie-fy your pout.

Prada not only made double ponytails sexy but they also made the bright orangey-red pout TDF!

So we don't all look like freaks walking down the street...try Nars Red Square (a perfect orangey red pencil that looks amazing on everyone!)
Throw this on with messy hair or a sleek bun and Hello Gorgeous!

There was also quite a bit of peachy sweet lips stalking the runways.
Wooo hooo Nanette...2 trends in 1 show!!!

Thank GOD! Cuz those shades are demure, sexy and look good on everyone!!!

Nars line of Orgasm is soooo perfect for spring. Goldy peachy pink flavors make you look like a Greek Goddess. No need for makeup with this shade...you will look so sweet and polished.

While searching for the perfect nude lip we came across Freckletone from MAC.

It's a perfect peachy-nude shade for your sexy smokey eye look (that is also back...but isn't it back every single season? Yes it is...YAY!!)

3. Greige Nails- (That's Beige and Grey mixed together)
Thank you Chanel (for sooooo many reasons) for your greige nails.

Uggghhhh we soooo love this color!!! It's so, "I love to go to Paris to shop but I am soooo down to earth that I don't want to be flashy"

The puttiness of these "Greys" is chic and classy and goes with any ones skin tone.

Chanel was kind enough to let us non Chanel-y shoppers dare to dream even more by letting us have the same color as on the runways.

OPI also has their version of the Greige called Over the Taupe.

And last but sooooooo certainly not least...

4. Any thing goes as long as you feel super sexy hair

Of course we put Mr Wang in here yet again!

His wind swept side braid is soooo sexy...crazy stylish in a "Oh...I just woke up and this is what my hair looks like" way, uber easy to do and we wear it almost everyday.

Braids also showed up at Dsquared2

Norma Kamali did twisted braid "hats" that make us wish we had major mermaid hair

And a few other shows to prove they are here to stay.

Hi Lanvin...do you ever do anything wrong? Ever? NO?? Yeah no shit!

'Cuz your Ballerinas on Crack buns are sooooooo F'n stunning!!!!!

And paired with smokey eyes we are totally stealing this for an upcoming wedding!!!

Diane, Diane, Diane....we are in Heartville with your spring 2010 tribal looks! Those fabrics are TDF!

And that goddess hair???!??! Yes Please!!!!!!

Take a trend or take them all...play a bit of dress up!

Feel silly? Don't!
In the middle of this post I decided to try on all of my old bright blue liners and bright red lipstick and you know what? It looks pretty damn good!

Have fun! What else is makeup for?

Beauty-fuls: La beauté des Globes Dorés

Viva la beaute! Viva la glam...la glitz...la ribbons and shout outs to support the devastated land and people of Haiti.
Even with the horror going on in Haiti, the ladies of the Golden Globes managed to pull it together and glam it up! Well some did...and others attempted...

And now...the cheers and (to our dismay) the jeers for some of the beauties of the GG night.

We really really hate to say anything bad about our fellow sisters (the ladies) but we just couldn't resist...must be the ol' Aunt Flo...or just plain honesty with a pinch of bitchiness mixed with a sprig of love for good makeup...

Here are awards for the most beautiful (makeup) of the evening....
(in no particular order)
Oh Diane...how we heart thee. We will however, try to not factor in your AMAZING dress when we talk about how gorge you looked.

Diane went for the subtle natural beauty and stunningly nuevo '40s hair and let her fuchsia Christian Lacroix gown do the talking.
Diane you look amazing with your coppery-brown smokey eye and perfectly pinkie nude lip.

Drew...Drew...Drew...Drew...We will not let the fact that your acceptance speech was totally fake and overacted. Yes, we know you have been there a million times and win countless awards (that we do think you deserve BTW) but try to be a wee bit more humbled...
Anywhooo...
We LOVE your stunning rosy lips and equally pretty rosy glowy cheeks! Your whispery grey liner with hints of pearl is TDF! You look radiant as if lit from with in your exquisite Versace dress.

Meryl...you get better with age! OK now, yes we are absolutely obsessed with your genius talent but we will try to let that go for the sake of fairness in award season at TWH.
Your natural eye and glowy cheeks are a perfect pairing for your pop of coral on your lips. You look fresh and totally age appropriate (that word is not just for 15 year olds ya know).
PS Nice dress! It is not easy looking glam, subtle, hot and your age at these shows and you did them all super well...bravo!

Zoe Saldana...we have been in heartville with you since you were in Center Stage. And once again we have arrived at the heartville gates to congratulate you on your stunning makeup.
We do take note that you are already stunning but your makeup could have gone another way with that ridiculously rad Louis Vuitton cranberry ruffled gown.
Looove your Liz Tayloresque cat eye liner and perfect pinky-nudey-taupey lip. Gorge! And your hair...yes please...that dress is not an easy one to pull off and look fresh and young at the same time...

Marion...you had us at the blue liner (and at La Vie en Rose).
We super heart your navy cat-lined lids and light pinky nude lip!

You look glamorous with out piling the makeup on. We love it! Not an easy fete when wearing a peacock blue Christian Dior dress (you needed another shoe though but since this is a post on makeup we will keep the lips zipped!)

BRAVO!!!!! Xtina no more Mrs Aguilera- Bratman...you have crossed into Stunning-ville!
Mr twh and I gasped when you walked out with Cher.
Your suuuuper cute new bob and gorge Versace dress were only elevated by your rosy lips and lightly smokey eye (not to mention your rad sparkly skin...we love a dose of glitter at TWH).
We can actually see how pretty you are! Not how much makeup you let your artist pack on you.
You look amazing and beautiful!!!!

And now it's time for the No Bueno awards for worst makeup...not necessarily UGLY, but just not good....

We thought there was no way possible to make Penelope Cruz look bad or aged...
Well her makeup team managed to pull of the impossible...
They aged you! You of all people don't need that much makeup! It's too heavy against that dress, that hair and tanned skin. And while you are at it...try a new "look"!
You are gorgeous...you can change up your makeup and you will still look spectacular (well only if you don't over do it)
And with your dark spray tan (that is not a real glow) you give Sophia Loren a run for her money....scroll down...

We would only pray to look as beautiful as SL when we are older but she does need a new hair dresser and stylist and lay off the spray tans a bit...

FERGIE!!! Come on! What is happening??!?!?! We are totally confused.
We are not sure what is off...but it is for sure off. It may be the messy thick prom hair...or the odd makeup that makes you look all one color...or if it's just the overly plumped lips and cheeks but it's not good.
You can do the undone look and this is not it. You need to call in a new team...call us..we will direct you to some amazing people...

And last but not least Miss Aniston. Yes, we loooove the hippie beach girl sooo much it hurts but EVERY time?!?!? Change that shit up every once in a while...You do look beautiful but we are bored...
You are stunning and glowy and you should yell at Chris McMillan for never pushing you to try new things.
And while you are at it, yell at your makeup team for the same thing.
You always look the same whether it's on the streets, in a movie or at the Golden Globes. Just have fun!

Lovelies of twh...you don't have to be famous or even invited to an award show or party to dress up and have fun...
Have your own GG in your bathroom...play dress up..experiment...it's fun!

Look...we did last night....don't we look amazing?!?!
(not us...just rad)
