Decor to Die for: Blooms for your rooms!

(Domino)
So, we all have the friend who has that special knack for always having fresh flowers in their homes. Wether it is abundant arrangements all over the house, or pretty single stems scattered throughout.

(Domino)
Seeing fresh flowers just makes you smile, plus it makes every room look that much better!

Look at what these beautiful pink Peonys do for this simple but chic bathroom.

(House Beautiful)
And we don't wanna hear any excuses about fresh flowers costing to much money, because if you go to your local Farmer's market you can find really great deals.

(What's up duck?)
And even though you know how much we heart a beautiful misfit vase, flowers can be held in anything and still look fabulous,

(Domino)
case in point these Sweet Peas in old chinese tea tins.... You could absolutely do this in your home! You know you can, we will even help you find the tins, head over to the Pearl River Market and get yourself some!
(They would also make really cute q-tip holdrs for your bathroom!)

We are fans of both the single bloom arrangements ,that means all the same type of flower together. Like these RIDICULOUS Ranunculus with the amazing green centers and bright pink edges.... In a tea cup!! Thank you Domino mag for the amazing arrangement.

But we also love to mix up different types of flowers and vases to make a bright and sunny display.

How cheerful is this little arrangement? I love the mixture of tea pot, pretty glasses and garden roses.

Another one of our favorite ways to liven up a room is with a vase full of blooming branches.

(Real Simple)
These Cherry Blossom branches look so graphic and modern in a simple glass cylinder.
If you can't find Cherry Blossoms you could use Flowering Quince or any other flowering tree branch you can get your hands on.
They call this process "Forcing a bloom" and it is something you should try near the end of winter when you just gotta get out of the grey days.
Check out this blog post from Habitually Chic for instructions on forcing and some pretty pictures.

(Habitually Chic)
Dress up up your table top with a monochrome color scheme,
(Unknown source)
These white roses in modern and clean glass cylinders on this holy F*%K beautiful marble table has a clean and super fresh look.

We love a beautifully cluttered table, and these red roses scattered on a red table cloth are giving a cool gypsy vibe we heart.

Fresh flowers will bring a luxurious and fresh happy feeling to your home, and you deserve that! So hit your local Farmers Market or Trader Joe's.
(A great place for affordable fresh flowers)
Make your house beautiful everyday.

Random Hearts: Wildflowers in the sun

Guess what? There is a great big beautiful world out there!

Did you know that? I know, it is so easy to forget when we spend so much of our lives in cars, in stores, in buildings, inside...

It is so easy to forget that right now, all over the hillsides and cliffs of beautiful California (and a whole lot of other places) Spring is bleeding into summer in a riot of color and beauty!

Now is your chance to throw on some comfy clothes and good strong sneakers, or even Docs, get in that car of yours and head straight out of town.

We are so in heartsville with wildflowers and California's glorious canyons.
It took us actually having a reason (wedding!) to get back into Southern Cali's own Canyon country... The Santa Monica mountains!

Breathtakingly beautiful, the smell of sunshine mixed with pepper-trees and sage.
Oh to spend time in the mountains and hills of California.

Too bad we were wearing heels and not ready for hiking, but it reminded us that we have to get out and literally smell the flowers before the August sun starts to dry everything out.

If you are in California, here is a great list of places to go to see the most beautiful wildflowers.

If you happen to be looking for a little more incentive to head for the hills this weekend, how about a festival in Topanga Canyon?

The 37th Topanga days celebration is this weekend. Sounds fun to us.

Another one of our favorite spots is Crystal Cove.
And it isn't just because you can stop for a milkshake afterwards at Ruby's shake shack either.

We can't tell you how we dream of filling our homes with beautiful wildflowers.

Being able to pick them by the basket load and give them to everyone we love.

Make sure you check with the State PArk people... They may ask you not to take wildflowers.. We don't want to start a notorious Wildflower crime syndicate.

But seriously if we could, we would fill our baskets to the brim...

And then carry our baskets around like the stunning Jane Birkin. You should have known we would work fashion into this one somehow... We may be a little bit hippie at heart but we are full time fashion obsessed!
Get outside... Don't make us tell you twice.

Decor to Die for: Thanksgiving centerpieces

So chances are everything is about as ready as ready can be for your big day today..

And we know you are going to be super busy running around town or cooking away the hours in the kitchen, so we are going to keep this one short and sweet... Kinda like the Things-We-Heart gals ourselves.

We put a lot of love into our food on Thanksgiving... And here are a few of our favorite ways to show your table that much love!

These are just some inspirational ideas of ways to pretty up your house for the big day.

Persimmons are so gorgeous and when you mix them with twigs of bitter-sweet, you can get much better!

Love this idea of hurricanes filled with chestnuts and pillar candles, we would keep them like this through Christmas!

We also love the simple cluster of mini pumpkins down the center of this table...
Deconstructed and loose, delicious.

OMG, why didn't we do this before? Paint your pumpkins white and put them on a white table... Done and done! With the silver bird figurine? Perfection!

We also have a crush on mini fruit used as place holders....

Little pears....

Little apples...

Oh my! Happy Thanksgiving!

We wish you all lots of love, tummies full of yummies, and not too much family drama in the kitchen!

Eat lots of pumpkin pie... It's a veggie!
