Decor 2 Die 4- Last minute holiday hostess gifts.

Here we are just 2 days away from the big day itself! Christmas day!

If you are anything like us, you have been shopping up to the last minute, and you still have some to do...

Well, don't feel too bad about it, even Santa waits till the last minute to drop off his gifts!!

But you never want to show up at a holiday party empty handed, so here are some last minute ideas for your host & hostess this holiday season.

3 reasons why pretty flowers are the perfect gift...

1. One size fits all.

2. Everyone (mostly) loves them.
3. Once the holiday is over only the memory of your thoughtfulness lingers....

(As opposed to that wool Reindeer Sweater that Aunt Maggie knitted and takes up WAY too much of your closet space... Thanks Aunt Mags!)

Another great gift for the last minute shopper... BOOZE!

Grab a bottle of Wine or really nice Scotch
(Macallan 18)
Skip the errr, festive bottle stoppers, and instead add a nice pair of wine or highball glasses!

Don't even have time to go grab pretty glasses? Take the lesson now and get to know yourself! Order these cute labels for next year, so you are never caught without a personal touch added to your last minute gift!!

Trust us, order them NOW and put them in your desk drawer! You can thank us at the end of 2011!!

If you live anywhere within a 15-20 minute radius of an Anthropologie store, you have no excuse for yourself...

Honestly this store is like the "hostess gift" shopping equivalent to great sex.... If you can't find something here to make you happy, then you are just being too picky!
Give this pretty Capri candle as a gift and watch the scene unfold sort of like this...

"Thank you for inviting me over for Christmas dinner Mrs. My-New-Boyfriends mom...
Here is a beautiful silver candle that smells like Heaven...
Well, yes I am a pretty special girl, thank you for noticing... You do have a lucky son and yes your right, I AM good enough for him."

If it comes down to it... A box of chocolate will work in the pinch...

Really you could take the time to make a homemade sweet gift for your sweet friend, but when your outta time, your outta time!

Just make sure that the box is pretty and the chocolate is GOOOOOD!

We wish you a Merry Christmas filled with lots of love and goodness! Remember that for as much crap as we talk over here at T-W-H the very BEST gift you can give or get is love, loyalty, laughter and of course... Lanvin.

Decor to Die for: Color Crave, Almost Blue...

The other day I had an moment of inspiration... A stroke of brilliance....
I just knew we needed to paint the master bedroom a deep, dark, beautiful blue!

Then I thought... Hmmmm, maybe I should sit on that for a few days.

And while I love and admire the balls or even better the CAJONES it takes to boldly paint a room this amazing color, I am afraid I may lack them.

A well done navy blue room can be so perfect it hurts, like this tiny kitchen in Ruthie Sommers Venice Beach bungalow... The turquoise doors? PLEASE!

The Matte walls and navy lacquer doors from the Elle Decor (?) feature...
Heaven.

Dark blue can be crisp and clean when mixed with white.
It can be festive and happy when mixed with bright pops of color....
If you do it wrong though... It is gonna be a hot, hot mess!

So I think I am gonna sit on this color crave a little bit longer, maybe in a literal sense.... I could quench my taste for blue with this STUUUPID Anthro Settee that I have been lusting over since summer...

Or for a lot less money, I could fill my house with these beautiful blue Capri Candles that smell as good as they look.
Or, I could put my money where my mouth is and support a budding artist!
Looking around on Etsy for navy blue I found this delicious photo!

I have a feeling it would look great in a master bedroom!
(MINE)

In honor of my "Almost Blue" room... Here is another one of our Fake Boyfriends singing "Almost Blue".... Try not to cry, we know it's THAT GOOD.

Decor to die for: Mind your manners!

It is that time of year again... At least in our house, birthday season!
And with birthday's come thoughtful gifts... And thoughtful gifts should be followed up by thoughtful thank you cards.

Because not only is saying thank you VERY important... It is also really fun and gives you an excuse to get some pretty stationary!

Because if there is one thing we go gaga for.... It is a pretty, old fashion snail-mail card!

How else can you say "Thank you darling!" In such a cute way?

We are in love with these teal Ikat pattern cards from

What could be more bad-ass and girlie-girl at the same time then these Dia De Los Muerto Thank you cards.

Is there such a thing as being too cute? Like, you have to run around covering your eyes and screaming because you can't believe the cuteness?

Well, if so be careful because we have found it!
These "Deer" little cards from Tara Hogan are gonna send you over the cuteness edge.

Thank you cards don't have to be saved for gifts though... Sometimes you just need to send someone a quick note to say, Thank you for being a friend.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes simple says it all?
We are dying over the simple black scrawl on creme background with the red envelope!

So simple and stunning, we have to have these Paper Source cards.

After you write all those thank you cards and hand address them, because really, you should.... You may need a break.

So, for adorable return address's in a hurry.... Invest in a cute rubber stamp! So simple and so classy!

We just ordered ours from Primele and can't wait to see it!

Remember, manners are important.. But don't stress over it... No one can have perfect manners all the time...

Right your Majesty?
