Random Hearts??? Lana Del Rey

(Lana Del Rey promo shot: Stolen from Idolator.com)

We know you guys, We know.... We've been gone almost over a year, with two beautiful babies to show for it... And endless good intentions to sit down and post a wonderful piece for our true blue readers and supporters.... And we come back for Lana Del Rey?!

We KNOW!!!

But you guys... It's just something that can't be helped.

(Sixteen Candles image stollen from Cinema GOD, John Hughes)

We are officially obsessed. Going through the day checking and re-checking google images to make sure that, yes! Lana Del Rey does still look EXACTLY like the older drugged sister from Sixteen candles!

(as our dear & insightful friend Emily pointed out)

(Image match stolen from an unknown genius)

Checking to make sure that, yes! She is still some what annoyingly slow and pouty in her singing style....

And finally that YES, she does have the same name as the man-hungry 1970's O.G cougar from Three's Company!

(Image of Lana & Jack from Three's Company)

We are going for full honesty, pour-out-our-guts-ness here.
Paula Abdul style, STRAIGHT UP NOW.

We really want to hate her.... It has been so long since these feeling of confusion, stomach churning dislike mixed with secret admiration and jealousy have reared their ugly heads inside of us. Almost exactly, since high school actually.
She is THAT girl!

Oh my God you guys! Look at her!
F*CK!!

Lana Del Rey is like a young Julia Roberts that you just absolutely, positively, Just do NOT want to be besties with... That is unless she wants to be besties with us and then, in that case, sure, call me and I guess we can hang or whatever.

(Image of Mystic Pizza stolen from: Donald Petrie)

All we hear about these days is Lana Del Rey.... Our husbands listen to her in the car, in the office and are constantly trying to convince us that her songs are actually really new and innovative and that her lyrics are amazing...

Yeah, thats true.. Ok, we really DO like the lyrics to Video Games..

She MIGHT even actually be a Gangsta Nancy Sinatra or WHATEVER.... But we know 96% of it has to do with the fact that home girl looks like this....

(Image stolen from: Pastarunmusic.com)

Lana is like every indy, musician , skater boy, graffiti guys dream girl... In the end does it really even matter if she was manufactured in a record company board room?

She wears short, shorts and red high top converse in her F*cking videos people!

She wears ringer shirts and Esther Williams style flowers in her hair!

If she was created in a board room, then there were some genius decisions made that day!

As much as we want to be haters, we kinda can't... And why do we want to be anyway? Why did we spend/waste time finding her before and after plastic surgery photos?

(Image: Interview magazine duh.)

We live in HOLLYWOOD.... Who hasn't had a little work done? Although we do love the gals who openly cop to it, (because it's a little insulting to think we are that naive?) does it really make a difference? She was pretty in the before pictures anyway....

BITCH.

(Image: unknown source)

True story: One of us actually sent this before photo to her husband like,

"Look at your girlfriend before her lip job. Not trying to be a bitch..."

A. I was totally trying to be a bitch

B. his response was "Whatevs".

C. Seriously, just trying to remind you that my lips are ALL real dude.

See? That is some high school shiz... Why is this girl getting under my skin?

Is it because I don't like her? Or because when I borrow my husbands car I totally enjoy listening to her album and then change it to the Beastie Boys when I get out so as not to be discovered? Hmmmm?

Whatever it is we are torn... TORN, torn as her high waisted short shorts...

How do you feel? Let us know in the comment section.
Unless you live with either of us, in that case keep it to yourself mister.

There's no place like home for the holidays!!

We can't exactly call it a random heart, because really it is one of the biggest most important things we heart... HOME!
And home, around the holidays is our favorite place and time!

We love travel, and excitement and new experiences, but we really love home and tradition and getting cozy as we can.

Home doing the holidays for us means....

Fireplaces blazing....

Getting snuggie with the family...

(If anyone knows where we can get these Ninja Turtle Snuggies please send us the info! We NEED them all!)

Delicious homemade Matzo Ball soup....

Our favorite Christmas movies..... Over and over again!

Playing our holiday play-list so loud and so many times in a row the neighbors have to call and ask if we can turn it down and make it stop!

Decorating the Christmas tree with our family that we love so much....

Kissing our sweetie beneath the mistletoe...

Menorahs glowing, hanukkah bushes....

Christmas Trees!!!

What could be better then all of those things? Sharing with people you love, giving of your self to strangers, loving and kissing your family!

There's no place like home for the holidays! We are so thankful for another year of holiday love.

Enjoy yours.
(Now if we could only get it to snow in Los Angeles it would be perfect!)

Random Hearts: Laugh and the world laughs with you!

You know the old saying, about laughter....

Well actually, there are a few old sayings about laughter...

Laugh and the world laughs with you.

Laughter is the best medicine.

You don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old when you stop laughing.
And you know what? They are all right. Laughter crosses all borders and tears down all walls.

Laughter picks you up when you are feeling down and lifts you higher when you are on top of the world.

We for sure love a good laugh! If it is shared with friends or if you are all alone, a deep belly laugh will always put you in the right mood.

And yes, we laugh alone because we have a very rich inner life happening in which we are extremely witty and smart!
(Hey everyone has to have a dream right?)

Even seeing other people laugh can make your day brighter.

So today, we suggest you get out their and look for a laugh.

Be open to and on the look out for a good time and a good giggle.

We bet it will make you feel better!

Need some help?
Go here,
and here...
Now get off the computer and live life!

Random Hearts: We heart the new breed if Fall '10 movies!!!

Oh my god! We can not wait!!! This fall's movie line up is soooooooo good we can't stand it!

Movies are basically the only perfect form of entertainment...right?? Well besides a certain concert we saw over 50 times last year...but we digress...

Movies are truly perfection...
They can take you away, teach you, make a rainy gloomy day...snuggly, be a great date, a fantastical pick me up, cool down a humid day and spruce up a ho hum day...
They aren't expensive (unless you live in LaLa and go to the Arclight...can you say $15 a pop?)
and they totally entertain.

So imagine our stupid crazy excitement when the new crop of films came out!

Here are our top 5 must sees for this season...

Thank you Ben Affleck! Thank you for your ridiculously great movie! What a fun ride!
We love a good bank robbing movie like Heat and Dead Presidents..Oooh and Point Break and The Town was even better! You have officially buried that whole Gigli debacle.

Natalie Portman, Darren Aronofsky, Mila Kunis, Ballet and the story of Swan Lake in a fucking thriller???!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?
YES PLEASE! ASAP POR FAVOR!!!! You had us at...well you had us at the title really...

We can't wait to see this documentry by David Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) about the sad, horrific state of the school system in the weathiest and luckiest (yet most far behind and lazy) country in the world.
It's up to our generation to make a change...

It came out last Friday and we are still waiting like patient spouses to see it with our hard working other halfs, but every person we have talked to said its amazing!
The tale-ish of the start of Facebook(ya that thing that steals hours and hours of your day) by the one and only David Fincher. It follows the conception and beginnings of the most famous and wealthy social networking site ever.

and last but sooooooo not least...
part 1 of 2 insanely amazing books...

Uuuughhhhghghhg! Hurry! Hurry! We are actually happy they split this amazing book into 2 parts. It makes it last longer...now we have yet another movie to look forward to for next year (besides Breaking Dawn of course)
We heart you JK Rowlings for keeping us totally enthrawled and entertained with your books and movies for over 10 years now!

P.S. If you see all 5 of our top 5 or any 5 for that matter...it is cheaper than buying a small round of drinks! And you probably won't have any morning after regrets..well of course unless you decide to see Jack Ass 3D...then you are on your own.

Random Hearts: Snuggle lovers

We are gonna keep this one short, simple and sweet.
Last night while I, Miss Me lay snuggling with her 4 year old son watching a silly movie... They were both full of giggles and snuggles when a thought flashed across my mind....

There will never be anything better then this.

There will never be anything better then holding on to someone you love and snuggling up to them.

Nothing is better then a sweet loving snuggle.

Find someone you love, and give them a snuggle today, you will not be sorry.

Random Hearts: Treasure Hunting!!...We heart it so much we decided to repost it!

Our love for eBay is no secret, nor is our passion for local farmers market fare...
We are deeply excited when we unearth a fabulous find on-line or find our favorite local strawberry farmer... It makes us feel just like a pirate finding her treasure!

But what do you get when you cross the two things together?
Well, think of a reese's peanut butter cup with zero calories.
The result is that good!

We are crazy in heartsville with flea markets and craft festivals... NO!! NOT THAT KIND OF CRAFT FESTIVAL!!! Not the kind you may imagine with tons of crystal dream-catchers and windmill lawn ornaments... Those are a dime a dozen.

We have fallen for very cool and very hip indie art and craft festivals.

Patchwork is a craft festival where cool local crafters and small business owners can come together to sell their wares to the public in a setting that celebrates art and community. These are NOT your Granny's festivals.

The Things-We-Heart gals are super excited this year because the festival is coming one step closer to home.
On Sunday November 29th, Patchwork will be held in Long Beach, CA!!

With items for kids, babies, ladies and your nest.... You really can't go wrong!
Look at these slippers!

What beter way to support local craftsmen then actually shopping for their goods? And trust us, handmade treasures are often the very best kind!

Of course Miss Me is always on the look out for cute kid gear... And this
"pirate-esqe"
shirt available from The Outfit (they will be at Patchwork!), is perfect for treasure hunting with her kids.

This is gonna be a really cool event and you should be able to find some fun goodies...

Now on to the Flea Circus... Woops we mean Flea Markets!

Their are few things as pleasurable as strolling through a crowd of crazy characters and random old junk... Well, at least for us.

Because really where else can you get the thrill of stumbling upon a table full of say,

(Oh, sorry... Maybe not everyone gets that excited as we do about these...)

Here are three of California's best of the best.
At least our favorites... Although we don't get to go as much as we want to, because really who's husband wants a house full of Kewpie dolls?

Treasure hunters at the ready? Here we go...

Numero Uno

The Rose Bowl Flea Market! This place is no joke, with over 2,500 vendors and about 15,000- 20,000 visitors every month, you better get in line early!

Boasting 800 vendors, the Long Beach Antiques Market happens on the 3rd Sunday of every month. If you show up after 6:30 am you can get in for just $5.
This is a great place to find beautiful costume jewelry.

Then of course their is the easiest Flea Market of all, Small enough to actually cover the whole thing and cool enough that you will run into a bunch of people you know.

Every Sunday rain or shine held at Fairfax High School on Melrose and Fairfax. It is a really great way to spend a Sunday morning.

For all of you who live outside of the Los Angeles area, or those f you planning a major treasure hunting road trip... you can get this great book telling you all of the nations best flea markets!

We hope you enjoy the search for all things adorable as much as we do.
See you at the market mateys!
