Fashion Friday: These boots (and booties) were made for walking...

Besides the caramel, we have another reason we really heart the Fall....
Beautiful, breathtaking boots!

Ohhh, to put the flip-flops away and be forced by Mother Nature to put on sensible footwear is not a pity but a joy! But lets show you what the Things-We-Heart girls think of as sensible, here are just a few of our fave-fall-footwear.
(say that 5 times fast)

Lets begin with the newest trend of the fall, over-the-knee boots!! Yes!! We really love them, although we are a little afraid to jump into the over-the-knee swimming pool, these Twelfth St. By Cynthia Vincent beauties look like the perfect way to get our feet wet..

The sturdy heel and taupe color of the Lindy Over-the-knee boot make them soft and wearable. Skinny-skinny jeans and a loose white T will keep you looking super casual and amazingly cool.

Another style this Fall that we are hearting is the cut-out booties.
This is a style we can really imagine wearing day and night!

We are going gaga over these booties by Rosegold
They are like Miss Me's high school dream shoe... A mary Jane mixed with a Doc Martin, So perfect for the return of Grunge.
Throw those on with some tights, a baby doll dress and a boyfriend cardigan and WOW.

OK, now we can say it over and over again... And some people just may not get it... But THESE are the reason Marc Jacobs is still in the top 3 of of famous "Fake Boyfriend" list! (We will not give the order, but Jonathan Adler and Edward Cullen are also part of the club)
Seriously, did Marc really make a simple black suede boot... With a ruffle seam?

In the words of Rachel Zoe... "I die, I die, I'm dying, I died"
Seriously.

God damn you Loeffler Randall, you do it to us everytime!
This lovely Camilla boot is just another winner in Loeffler Randall's endless stream of deliciousness.

Platform boot with a wooden heel and adorable rounded toe.
You can get them in black or grey.

Or if you are a lucky, lucky lady... Both!
(If I were a rich girl, nah nah nah nah na na na....)

We kind of think that because these are brown it takes the "Street Walker" edge off of these boots.

Although, rocking them with no tights is a pretty bold move. We would wear them with tights and a mini dress and a shrunken boy blazer.
Thanks to Joie for these beautiful Twiggy boots. We think these may be the over-the-knee winners in our book.

From the dynamic Duo of all things fashion, Mary-Kate and Ashley,
Come these SUPER made to lust after booties, well truth be told, they are more of an oxford, but we heart them so much we couldn't resist!

From the twins line Elizabeth and James come these really beautiful Venice booties. These would look so pretty with black tights a pretty white mini dress and a grey cardi...
I guess you can tell that the Things-We-Heart girls have a uniform of sorts going on with our tights, mini-dress and cardigans... But trust us, it works every time!

Every once in a while a bootie comes along that sort of tells all the other bootie to sit down and recognize.

Readers, we would like to introduce you to the Belle by Sigerson Morrison tie back wedge in black suede.
And yes,

They have a bow detail on the back. Done and done, soooo delicate and lovely.

On the other side of the boot spectrum are these not delicate, but super bad-ass Kors plaid Stream boots.

Sort of like a super sexy and feminine mountain girl... Or perhaps a resident of Forks, Washington, who has a dreamy vampire for a boyfriend and has to spend her days in the grey cloud banks hiding from the sun... Hey we are just saying.

Throw on your skinny jeans and a vintage T-shirt and you are ready for anything this Fall!

You know those adorable paper-bag-waisted trousers you have been seeing around? Well take a look at these paper-bag-ankle booties from F.B.F (fake boy friend) Marc Jacobs!

These boots would look amazing with any of your go-to Fall outfits.
They are so classy but easy and the nice sturdy heel makes them super day to night!

We know this is not a boot, or a bootie... But we so fell in heartsville with this head piece from Ann Demeulemeester that we had to put it up today... Plus wouldn't it look beautiful with some pretty boots?

We hope you are as excited for Fall boots as we are!

Fashion Friday: Don't be a late bloomer..heart some bloomers!

Flip flop...flip flop...flip...haaaaaaaaa....Um...um...hawaii.... hallway....crazy cute Japanese girl gaaaasssppppp!!!!!!
Can't breathe...need help.......4 button nautical bloomers...AHHH... love, twoo love!

What is it about bloomers that is just so great?!?

Is it that they are vintage and we heart (almost) everything vintage? Is it that they are really cute and girly and when paired with something just slightly off they look magnificent? Or maybe it's just because they are quite difficult to pull of but when you do your legs look ah-mazing and heads will turn and say "ooh lala she's tres chic!"

CHLOE!!! WE WANT! WE NEED!!! THIS OUTFIT IS TDF!!!!

Bloomers came into the fashion world in the 1850's when they were supposed to be helping Victorian woman stay "decent" if their skirts lifted during activities. But by the 1860's they failed to catch on.
Then a french designer in 1906 tried to make the Harem pant and bloomers popular and failed again...well Mr. Poiret..I guess you are having the last fashion laugh!

They didn't become fashion smashion until the 1970's and boy are we glad they did!

How ridiculously fantastic is this '70's ad!?! Sooooo great!

Now you gorge ladies (and lads) o' fashion...we would love to show you some of our gorge pics of some gorge blooms...

Hello Miss Isabel Marant...why are you sooooo amazing?
Geesh!
You had us at lame' trouser knee high bootie bloomer thingys. They are beyond beautiful! Thank you.
Now if I could only loose 10lbs and grow 4 inches I would be set and buy them ;).

At first Miss Me (who by the way is the queen of bloomer cuteness) and I thought WOW bloomers at American Apparel! Yippie!!

Then we thought...hmmmm those mannequins are uber skinny and of course they are going to look grand and hot in those...So like the faithful retail economy restorers we are we went in for a closer look.
And to our sweet surprise (and trying on a size or 2 larger than we are) they were really cute! Now, maybe we can't, well won't, rock them like the mannequins in the windows but we will for sure rock them.

Hmmm...but what to rock them with? A cute leotard?...sure! Or a above the hip length A. Wang tank...you bet! And if we are feeling super fashiony and skinny we could bow belt 'em and button up shirt 'em like the example above.

Need a great upscale daytime chic pair?
Try on these Elizabeth and James watercolor bloomers on for size.
Pair with a heather grey over sized or shrunken blazer and a tank...some hot ass heels and you are RTG in the hottest way possible. Get ready to turn heads hotness.

Yay for Helmut Lang!
Your drapey over sized bloomers are fantastic! Thank you!

The perfect cut and menswear fabric make these comfortable shorts super sleek and fashionable. Plus the wider leg opening will make your legs look skinnnny.
Pair with gladiators, booties, black modern wedges for a fashion forward look.

Now, ignore the styling or maybe the way they fit on the model on this next great pair of bloomers....it makes them a bit less...um...good.

But styling aside, these Opening Ceremony shorts are truly wonderful. The high waist and pleats paired with the slightly longer length make these super convertible.

Once again, a great blazer and booties or an over sized cardi and pumps would rock with these.

You know we have these next ones in our shopping cart already...
Leave it to Forever 21 to put out a perfect pair of bloomer-esque shorts. They are men's trouser shorts, meets bloomers, meets military jacket....for a shmancy pants look.

This cut would look really great on anyone brave enough to rock a bloomer and at that price you don't have to worry if you have commitment issues ;)

Oh ebay...we super heart you! Even when we forget to look at your wonders everyday we still heart you...and we heart you even more for these beautiful Diabless Bloomers.
Perfect for the fashion savvy recessionista.

These heather grey trouser bloomers are great.
The wide elastic at the legs is really chic, the pleats and low button waist scream Kate Moss and the color?...done and done.
White slightly drapey tank, bright blazer and slouchy boots or Hunter boots and you are ready for the streets of London Town.

So let your fashionable side blossom and bloom. Grab some bloomers and confidence and you will thank yourself.

xoxo t.w.h.

Friday Fashion Flash: Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer....

It is like all our childhood dreams come back round again. There is nothing that says feminine like a soft pink flowing top, hair pulled back in a simple bun.... Yes,that's right readers, it is time to bust out the pink, black and grey and make like a ballerina.

Because, not only do ballerinas have grace and beauty in their costumes, these gals have some wicked street style! Take Leroy from Fame pictured above, or better yet don't, but take his short-shorts over sweats look and run with it! So what you can't fouette en tournant, you can look like you can!

Lets get busy and grande jette into some amazing looks! (I promise to stop using ballet terms at some "point" in this post. Wow, this is going to be hard.)

This is an affordable and sweet ballerina look from American Apparel, this dress called the Sac dress can be worn in any number of ways, we are partial to this light pink and black version worn in this classic way.

Ignore the styling in the photo above, (Oh, American Apparel, what is with the belt?) but the bloomers are simply adorable! Throw them on with a pretty camisole and some sweet flats and it will look like you just ran out of the dance studio!

(Maloles studded ballet flats)

We also heart all the looks from Elizabeth and James right now. Super amazing, floaty and ballet inspired.

Unfortunately for us, yet, fortunately for M.K & Ashley, Elizabeth and James is a little on the higher end price wise.... But really beautiful and worth every penny if you are looking to splurge on yourself. (And why not?)

But be sure our sweet little loves, The gals at Things-we-heart are always looking out for a great bargain, and here it is!

Yummy little criss-cross back straps on this beauty from Urban Outfitters
So simple and sexy and easy! Everything we love in one little dress. Pair this with your gladiator sandals and hit the streets. Par terre.

For a more casual relaxed look, perhaps for the beach or just grabbing lunch with the girls on Sunday morning, may we suggest this super soft and slouchy T-shirt/dress/delight from La Roc.

Going some where a little more dressy? Still want to look like a Prima Ballerina? Look no further then this beautiful dress, complete with tulle underskirt from Haute Hippie

So pretty, so girlie, so fresh! Isn't it fun to be all grown up and still be able to play dress up? We certainly think so!

XOXO- Thing we heart.

(P.S. This ones for you partner.)
