Fashion Friday: Short Stories! We heart cute summer shorts!

This post is officially gonna hurt our wallets so we hope you like it as much as we had fun putting it together.

Although in most of the Northern Hemisphere it is known as "Summer" here in Lala land it is nothing short of January...goose bump central.

The kind of weather that when you shave your legs so you can wear your brand new cutie mcgootie shorts and you go outside and poof! All your leg hair grows back!

But we digress...it's summer time!!! Wooo hoooo!!! Time for bikinis (uuuugghhh!), mani pedis, flip flops (yum!) and ...shorts!!!

But these aint yo' mamas khakis, or your sisters ill fitting thigh sticking bad boys...

These are the bew "cool" breed.

Remember how much we lurve lurve the new sweats? Well get a load of these fantastical sweat shorts! At first glance I wanna throw on some mucluc slippers and a boy tee and be done with it....

Then...at closer glance I realize the genius that are these Monrow cuffed shorts...

Pair with a cute boy blazer, v neck tee and high heeled booties (like the A. Wang-ish ones below)

and watch out Miss Moss...here come the TWH readers!

These are begging to be paired with a slouchy tank or off the shoulder (good) tee and these uber cute SM oxfords and you are sooooo RTG!!!

Wooooohoooooo! Think board shorts are just for for hot, tanned, toned surfers? Not anymore ;) Thanks to these Gryphon Sequin badboys.
These are dying to be worn to a fantastic party with a blazer and great fucking heels...not these horrible ones they have here. (For shame Shopbop...for shame).

And for the naturalists who just heart a great pair of denim cut offs in the hot days o' summer (and winter if paired with tights). We are crushing on this perfect pair of rolled A&F shorts.
Sooo great! Buy a couple of sizes bigger for a "Oh, yeah my boyfriend is sooo cute...he let me cut up his jeans for my shorts cuz he loves me sooo much" look.

These shorts would love nothing more than a great top and pair of flips...or better yet? A great tee, a bright bra and a pair of great wedges (not the slutty kind!) like these rad oxford-y ones.

So pack up those mom shorts...those boring Gap ones you wear when all of your laundry is dirty and embrace those gorgeous gams that Mother Nature gave you...wear some cute shorts already!

Fashion Friday: Down on Oxford Street...we heart boy shoes on girls!

We love oxfords yes we do...we love oxfords how 'bout you?!?!

Being the walking contradictions that we are over here @ Things We Heart we of course LOVE to HATE and super HATE to LOVE oxford shoes or Brogues for the shmancy folks.

Nery a tomboy in town can resist the undeniable love for wearing or wishing to wear those cutie bean shoes.

So snazzy...so chic...we super heart a great pair o' oxfords and a dress. The total oppositeness of it all makes us quiver!

We love and maybe even over use our lucky gold fantasmic oxfords from Steve (madden)...

We pair them with everything we can...but they look best with dark skinnies or mini tent dresses...

We gotta admit...we saw one of the most beautiful women ever... (besides miss me and all my other girl friends) Miss KW wearing a pair like these years ago and totally copied her...but super worth the guilt we feel.

Oooohhhhh these studded toe Dolce Vita (ughhh that alone kills us) stud muffins would love to...

So we tried some high top oxfords on today with a sundress (no not bragging...global warming sux) and it looked super cute!!!!

We lurve this crocheted high top wingtip scrumdiddles from Topshop. Soooo good!

Oh...wear neon anklets with these!!!!

Not ready to go all the way with the wingtip high tops? How about the hotness white low top version?
Our pleated khaki Gap shorts are dying to be paired with these and a striped off the shoulder sweater!!!

Fashion Friday: The Army...the Navy and The Marines! We heart military inspired clothing..

We suuuper heart military inspired fashion!!!! What self proclaimed fashionista or tomboy doesn't?

OK... time for a history lesson! Yay...sometimes it's still fun to learn isn't it??? Especially when the payoff is learning about fashion and its whereabouts...well that and just learning to be even smarter than you already are ;)

By the end of WWII every major military power in the world was wearing khaki uniforms...a color that is still widely worn today...but the way the military inspired our clothing didn't stop there...todays biggest fashion designers and stores still pull from the military looks of the

uniforms and fashions of the 1940's....and they are fantasmical!!!!

See? Painless and you learned a little....

The first thing that comes to mind when we think about Military Inspired Fashion (MIF)...capes!

Oh yes...there is nothing cuter than a super cutey mcgoo wearing a cape. So bold, so "I know I am fashionable with out being trendy..."

And the way they feel...free and flowing yet totally pulled together...

This grey, Balmain masterpiece with the SS (strong shoulders) is so perfect, sooo classic and crazy chic. We are going to close our eyes when we look at the price. Whew...glad we did..

We lurve a good M.I. jacket..who doesn't? They are so crisp, sleek and totally timeless. Plus they kinda up the ante of any outfit you are wearing.
