New York Fashion Week 2014- Nothin like a lil mom brain (and jealousy - the good kind) to inspire us

Well hello there!  How are you?  Loooooong time no talk..  We missed you just as much as you miss us.  Wanna know how much?  So much we stayed up just to write this for you...(and us)

With 5 babies between us it has been really hard to get to sit and write.  Inspiration is everywhere but at the end of the day a glass of Rosé, a soft pillow and a yummy man seems to call us so loud we can't quite get to write to you.  SORRY!

But the good news is... this NYFW has given us a kick in the ass.  It was SO good this season we had no choice but to tell Rosé to join us and keep us company.   SO cheers!

Ok this dress was the reason for everything...a reason to breathe, write, get married, drink, sing...you name it!  You had us at hello Carolina Herrera

Um, hi Ohne Titel...who are you and how have we never met??  You are chic..like sleek chic.
Are you sportswear? swim? day?  We can't get you but we love everything about you.

This dress is incredible...one day...maybe after more Kayla.

Victoria Beckham... I mean come on?!?  You have the man...THE MAN,  the cutest kids (except for a few we know), the bod, the girls (spice style) and now you have the line that keeps getting better and better.  It was polished and chic like always with a beautiful twist of quirky.  Thank you.  We will need it all sent to our house.

Oh and this sweater belongs on our bodies all day/all night.

And we can never say no to a good slouchy pant.  They are like our day wear, night wear...everything wear and no one this season did a better one then the sparkly girl herself, Gwen Stefani for LAMB.  She and her designer, Paula Bradley knocked it out of the park this season... with their Spring Revival deliciousness.

Oh and to go along with those bright pieces?  They were lucky enough to get their hands on one of the best Makeup Artists in the game,  Mr Gregory Arlt.  His gorgeous bright liner pared with perfectly glowy skin was stunning!

Oh Phillip...you break our hearts (and banks) every time.  Your bright, light and architecturally perfect collection for 3.1 Phillip Lim was a breath of fresh amazing.

This white on white ensemble is so chic.

Hands down one of the most talented designers of our time is Prabal Gurung.  He continues season after season to deliver NEW, unstoppable, innovative and gorgeous clothes.  He knows no trends, only beautiful silhouettes.  

He can do this perfectly beautiful (yet different) dress that we all NEED

then, oops..oh whats that?  you need an AMAZING sweater that you can have forever and ever and everyone will cry and drool as you walk by...Ok, here!

Beauty-Fuls....Golden Arches: Get them right, get them tight...

You know how important it is to have a well groomed brow. We all do, but how do we get the well groomed brow with our going overboard with the tweezers?

We have all done it before... Gotten in the zone with the magnifying mirror and when we pulled back and blinked, oh my.... That eyebrow is way thinner then the other side! Woopsie!

That is why it is best to leave eyebrow shaping to the experts.

Particularly, when the eyebrows you were born with look like the love child of Martin Scorsese and Brooke Shields....

What? Have you seen pictures of Miss Me as a child? No, thats right and there are reasons for that.

But for those times when you just can't get to a professional to wax, tweeze,thread, or zap your brows into shape here are some pointers for D.I.Y.B

5 Steps to a Perfect Eyebrow Shape

1. Trim your eyebrows. This will make a big difference in helping you look younger. Once eyebrows reach a certain length they start losing pigments at the ends. I love using a mustache trimmer set I purchased at a department store. It comes with a little comb and perfect point scissors. Comb your eyebrows up, trim any excess that goes beyond the natural hair line. Comb your eyebrows down, and do the same. It may seem like a lot at first but trust me, you will love the outcome.
2. Take an eyeliner pencil and place it vertically against your nose. It should run from the side of the nose, mid-mouth, and by the tear duct of the eye. This is where your eyebrow should start; any hair that is visible beyond the pencil should be tweezed.
3. Next place the pencil diagonally where it should hit the middle of the mouth, nostril, and outside the iris of the eye. This is wear your arch is. Tweeze a gradually line from the arch to the start of the eyebrow. Remember, GRADUAL, nothing harsh.
4. To determine the end of the eyebrow, place the pencil diagonally across to the opposite corners of the mouth, nostril, and outside corner of the eye. Any hair that goes past should be tweezed.
5. Place your pencil horizontal from the start of the eyebrow to the end of the eyebrow. The pencil should create a perfect straight line.

Make note, while we are all for taming your natural brow line, we are not for over plucking away your brows into nothingness.

Working with your own natural brow shape follow the guidelines above to keep your brow from getting too short.

A well shaped brow can really make the difference between night and day for your looks.

Now we know all about the importance of shaping, lets talk shade... Because the color of your eyebrow is super important too!

RULES FOR EYEBROW COLOR

• dark haired people should go one or two shades lighter than the color of hair on their head
• light haired people to go two shades darker than the color of hair on their head

As demonstrated by the always classy (uh-hhem) Kim Kardashian,

If you lighten your locks, please don't forget to lighten your eyebrows!

You will end up looking just like Madonna in the Papa don't preach video.

Looks like Italians only do SOME things better.

Here are a few of our favorite brow shapes, these ladies are all working different looks... But they are all working and that is the key.

Super thick and slightly bushy, a lot of weaker women would have shrank from such a strong brow but not Jennifer Connelly. Beautiful dark brows make her stand out in the sea of starlettes.

Gwen Stefani mixed classic golden era movie star and high-school cholita together and came out with pure eyebrow magic.

Perfectly arched they play up the beauty of her dark, dark eyes.

Landing in the middle of these to options, is every boyfriends fantasy girl..

Natalie Portman.

Just thick enough with only the slightest arch, the shade of her soft brown eyes matches her brows.

Okay truth be told, it isn't just the boys who have a crush on The Black Swan....

We suggest you go and get your eye brow shaped at least a few times a year and maintain that shape yourself if you are looking to save some moolah and precious time.

Now for some things we heart tips...

If you do happen to over-pluck, and it happens to the best of us, use a pencil orpowder and brush to fill in the missing brow... Naturally!

Keep a mini brow kit in your car, for emergency moments.

Don't forget to trim and lighten or darken your brows depending on your hair color. If your brows are feeling heavy don't over pluck.. try to lighten your brows a touch. It can make a HUGE change.

Try your best to stick to the rules of eyebrow shaping above, and treat yourself as often as you can to a professional eyebrow shape.

Fashion Friday: Sweats are the New Black....OMFG...Wooo Hooo!

We blame American Apparel for their AMAZING off the shoulder, sloppy seconds sweatshirts...from last year

Or maybe we can blame Juicy for making Velour tracksuits day wear...SOOOOO happy those Juicy days are far far far behind us all.

**If you are still wearing matching top and bottom tracksuits...TAKE THEM OFF NOW. Donate them to the Goodwill and be on your way.**

But as we sit here typing in the cutest drop crotch, heather grey sweats ever looking quite cute(If we do say so ourselves) with our striped cardi and worn out tee shirt to match we can't help but thank the people responsible!.

Not us but such a great way to wear the new Fashion Sweats....

Sweats have come a looong way from those horrible ones of the recent past. They are full on fashion now!

So super fashion that they are giving them hardcore details to kick your ass in the best smashion-y way possible...

They marched down the runways of Isabel Marant (LOOOOVVEEEE), Burbury, Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs to name a few (and out faves of course)

OK, now Miss me and I are no strangers to wearing sweats with vintage tees and converse, (our uniform last summer) but it was like a gift from the fashion Gods that they became fashion with the new styles that are out...

Monsieur A. Wang has thrown out Feats (Fashion Sweats...pronounced F-ets..rhymes with sweats) for the last few seasons and we really gotta get down and kiss his cute lil tootsies for that. And this last season he really F'd us up with his Athlete meets fashionista meets Mcgipster.

GIVE US THIS RE-FUCKING-TARDED TOP PLEASE!!!!! OMGGGGGGG...HELP!

Ugggh he even made matters worse (in the cutest way) with his new line of underwear and workout-ish wear. We are dying over these Hanes-esque boy undies!

These would look soooo super cute under baggy jeans. Oh...well look who it is...

Damn her and her cute fucking outfit.

What do you get when you mix the 80's, Punk(ish), and sweats? Ashish!

Their hardcore detailing of these 80's sweats is pretty funny and rad.

Throw on a denim jacket (not moto style...too much) and worn out tee and "look who the fashionista dragged in"

They also tried to give Mr Wang a run for his moolah with their rolled hem cropped sweatshirt.

JCrew gives us a good ole spanking with their super rad zipper bottom version.
We love that they paired them with yummy Gladiators!

But we would also LOVE to wear them with our still favorite pair of "Cons"...the Ash Virgins!

Hello rad Cheap Monday Shredded Feats top! We heart you!!!!

We are going to get you and wear you with army pants and flip flops or converse!

Thank goodness XXI got on the band wagon too! Yesterday someone we know well (OK me) was wearing a rad grommet shoulder Feats top from them and people thought it was some $$$ designer!
This studded shoulder XXI top is not the one we were wearing but super similar and...yeah...hi...it's $18. Done and Done!

Oh hi....yeah that's right..Feats come in all forms now...even super cute vests!
Throw this bad boy on with a looong slouchy tank dress and watch out!
