Decor to Die For: You're such a pouf! No we mean it in a nice way! We heart Moroccan Poufs!

Uggghhh how much we super and crazy uber heart Moroccan Poufs hurts! No really...it hurts!
How do you convince a boy that they are amazing and belong in your house?

You can literally put an amazing pouf anywhere in your home to brighten up your space in a totally functional way.

There are sooo many different types of Moroccan poufs out there....where do we begin?

Hmmmmm....how about with a bit o' inspiration for us all...then we shall show you a few of our TDF faves...OK...let's GO!

**Beware...this post is muy picture heavy...but that's OK right...right? 'Cuz seriously who wants to read so much today? **

You can not talk about nouveau Moroccan poufs (MPs) with out talking about (and obsessing over) John Derian...The King of the modern Decoupage.

He could possibly be the reason poufs are back in such a big way...

LOVE the mix of purple, crisp white, and bright pink...not to mention the rad lucite coffee table...

Now... although Mr Derian's poufs are gorge and just called both of our houses asking if they can come home and sit by our windows and fireplaces...they are pretty pricey...

Gosh...the mix of classic meets cosmopolitan meets bohemian chic is TDF and sooo chic! It says..."Oh I love to pick up things here and there while I sail around the world"

So guess what? No, it is not a DIY...(scroll down...the DIY is later)...Tazi Designs makes beautiful poufs too and for about $100 less...wooo hooo!

We are in Heartland with their metallics

And these ridiculously stupidly amazing embroidered lovelies!!!! These are dying to be somewhere near us...

A sickly talented and stunning friend of ours has a couple of these...Hmmmm wonder if she will notice if both of them are gone...They are sooo yummy it's totally worth smuggling them out...

John and now Tazi's poufs are soooo fantastic, they come in soooo many colors and sizes...
Here are a few of the ways to use their gorgeous poufs that we are obsessing about...seriously...OBSESSING!!!

Bye bye odd ceramic garden stools being used as end of the bed stool/benches....hello stunning use of MPs.

Dear FGF Kelly W,
Hi there by now your restraining order against us is probably being filed but before we agree to sign, can we just tell you...WE LOVE THESE limey green MPs in the most chic kids room ever!

Only you can mix light green poufs with light blue, rolled arm, tuffted, nailhead chairs...ugly dolls and an upholstered sleigh bed and make it look perfect! Sooo good!

If you are not ready to board the train to Moroccan Poufville but still love the look of soft stools...here are a few newbies to take a gander at...

Kilim is back in a big way and here is the Kilim take on the pouf...

This would look amazing in a white modern space...

Speaking of modern...Paola Lenti makes weatherproof "knit" plastic pouf that is spectacular...
Love it used as a table or poolside seat!

Ikea makes some great woven wood ones if Paola's don't do it for you or your wallet...

Hello super inviting chunky knit poufs from DWR?!?!? Sooo nautical meets modern chic and cozy!

Don't feel like spending $800 (on sale for $800) smackers? Make one yourself! See told you we had a DIY...

Hey don't laugh...it can look like this one the DIYer made herself...

Be a stylish lover....hug a Pouf today...then put it anywhere in your house and dare your friends not to steal your style ;)

P.S. I just noticed we lied about the whole not reading thing...there are a lot of words here...oh well...they were for a good cause...

Random Hearts: Thank you for being a friend!!

There is nothing random about it... Because friends make your life better in every way. They are the people who make you laugh harder then any body else, who are there for you when you need a cry, and boost you up when you need a lift.

When something happens in your life that makes you say OH MY GOD!!! You just have to call them... And if they have an OH MY GOD!! Moment... You want to hear about it!

And the most wonderful thing about best friends... Is as you grow up you realize.... You can have way more then one.

What a lucky thing to have different and amazing people to share your life with.

Of course their are fights... We are girls after all, what would life be without a little drama now and then...

But if the chips are down, or maybe things are looking up.... You know who you want beside you.

To share your fortune and your pain.... To tell you the truth about those new jeans you bought...."Yes, they do make you look fat! You are WAY too cute for those!" And coming from them... You know they are right.

You share your fashion finds, make-up tricks, silly dreams that you could never tell anyone else... They know you inside and out... And guess what? They still love you!!

A true friend makes you feel beautiful and special and worth while.... Because they adore you just like you adore them... You guys can trade advice about everything... Sure a lot of that advice is bad advice.... But at least you can laugh about it when you stumble.

If you are really lucky, you have at least one true friend. If you are really lucky, you are born with a B.F.F right in your own family! If you are really lucky, you have had the same best friends since you were 12 years old, If you are really lucky, you meet new and amazing friends when you least expect it.

So, what we are trying to say is... If you have a true friend.... You are so very lucky.

Yummies: Do the truffle shuffle! We suuuper hearty heart truffles...the fungi...

So it totally goes with out saying how much we love truffles...OK, OK you're right...how much we are obsessed with chocolate truffles....

But guess what? This post is about how much we are psycho for the other kind o' Truffle...the fungus kind!

Sooooo aromatic...super shmancy and pungent...and the flavor?... Indescribably decadent, warm, satisfying and unmistakable when you smell and taste it.
There literally is nothing like tasting truffles...nada!

Truffles are the Kings and Queens of the fungus family...there are 3 main types...and 2 of which fetch well over $1,000 per pound!!!!

Black- The most pungant and truffle-y truffle, found mostly in France and a few in Spain
White- The more delicate and almost garlic-y one, found in Italy
Grey- Found in the US and disregarded by most gourmands as a truffle...darn...

And the bestest part of truffles (besides the flavor of course) the only way to harvest them is with a pig!

There are certain pigs that can seek out these clumps o' flavor...cute!!!

Wanna love us even more than you already do? Yay! Here are our fave ways to enjoy the yumminess...
So no one dish gets their feelings hurt these are in no particular order...

Oh dear lordie mcgorgie!!!!!
Nothing says gourmet USA like the ridiculously stupid (and by that we mean amazing) gooey delish Truffled Mac N' Cheese...

Once you go Mac you will never go back

We love a super easy yet totally chic appetizer for our get togethers...the kind not found in the freezer.
Goat cheese and truffle oil crostini...

Crostini
8 ounces goat cheese
Truffle Oil
Freshly ground black pepper
Fresh thyme leaves
Prepare Crostini; set aside until ready to use.
When ready to serve, spread each slice of toasted bread with a thin layer of goat cheese. Pour a small amount of truffle oil into a teaspoon and tilt the spoon to sprinkle 3 or 4 drops on each toast.
Sprinkle black pepper over the top and garnish with a few thyme leaves.
Makes 16 servings.

Hello easy yumminess!

OK, so most of you have probably heard of Truffle mashed potatoes...super easy and delish to make at home. But, have you had Truffle roasted potatoes?!?!

Just as easy and waaaaaaay more exciting and shmancy.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 to 2 lb. Potatoes, New
1 teaspoon Vinegar, White Wine
2 tablespoons Truffle Oil, Black or White
1/2 to 1 tsp. Thyme, Basil or Rosemary, Dried
Pinch of Salt
2 Shallots, Minced

Directions:
Cut new potatoes in half. Toss in bowl with 1-1/2 tablespoons of truffle oil and salt. Roast in 350 degree oven until slightly browned and cooked through (approximately 45 minutes).

Remove potatoes from oven and place in original tossing bowl. Add vinegar, remaining truffle oil, herb of choice and minced shallots. Toss. Return to oven for 5-10 minutes. Serves 4.

We can not express enough how obsessed we are with Truffle pizza...soooo Italian. When you bite into it you will feel like you stepped into the streets of Rome.

Pizza Dough
Truffle Oil
2 cups mushrooms (shitake, crimini and or others)
Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
Parmesan Cheese

Roll out the dough and rub it with truffle oil. (I used 2-3 Tablespoons for the pizza) Saute mushrooms slightly in some olive oil or butter. Spread them over the pizza. Top with rounds of fresh mozzarella and sprinkle with parmesan. Cook pizza in a 500 degree oven on a pizza stone, if possible, until crust is browned and cheese is bubbling.

P.S. Trader Joe's and Fresh & Easy have great already made pizza doughs for you for under $1.75 a pop...You're Welcome ;)

Wanna up the ante? Rocco DiSpirito has a ridiculously amazing fancy pants Truffle Pizza...

And the ultimate and super American way (no offense USA... but the taste is out of this world) to enjoy the pungent decadence? Gossip Girl Truffle Grilled Cheese!

It has the Chuck Bass stamp of approval... You had us at Chuck Bass...

8 slices of fresh baked white bread (look for a local bakery)
16 slices of fontina cheese
2 tbsp sweet butter
2 oz fresh shaved black winter truffles
salt and pepper, to taste
  1. Layer 2 slices of fontina cheese between 2 slices of white bread and shave a couple of slices of truffles in the middle of each sandwich; do the same for all four sandwiches.
  2. Heat a large fry pan over medium heat and add the butter.
  3. When the butter melts, add the sandwiches and cook until the bread is nice and toasted.
  4. Remove and slice sandwiches in half and place into four plates.

The easiest ways to indulge and use Truffles with out having to pay a sick amount? With these 3 items we found for ya..

Yummmmmmmy Truffle oils! Sprinkle on pasta or eggs or veggies!

Amazing Truffle salt from Williams Sonoma...

We used last night on our asparagus...lets just say the chef got kissed!!!

And the most decadent way to use Truffles without having to stalk the striking and suave French chef at the farmers market? With real Truffle butter!

Every chef we have found is obsessed with D'artagnan's butter...and PS it's not stupidly (now we mean the bad way) expensive!

Buyer beware of fake truffle oils!!!

Do the Truffle Shuffle! You will jump back and kiss yourself!

No Bueno: Pet Washing Machines...Seriously?

This new Japanese trend quickly coming to North America is a super NO BUENO....they are automated pet washing machines...yes they are EXACTLY what you are imagining....

If you are too lazy...too irresponsible to bathe your pet yourself or take them to a reputable groomer...then maybe....just maybe (and by that we mean definitely) you should not have a dog or a cat for your furry friend.

Yes it seems funny at first...like..."What the F is that? Is that real? Haaaahaha poor puppy!"

Then you watch again...look at the poor angels shoved into the closed space...flooded with water then soap then a burst of air while it's owners look on.

What do you think they are thinking?

Imagine that feeling of utter helplessness and fright of being put in a washing machine.

P.S. Please do us and our furry friends who have no voice and boycott any store or company that owns or operates these machines....

We are apauled! No Bueno!!!!!

Love your furry friends as much as they love you...
